Connecticut Firearms Training Academy was founded in 2017 by Owner and Lead Instructor Brian Kowalczyk. Brian has been an avid recreational and former competitive shooter for over 30 years. He has been an active firearms instructor in CT since 1996 and has taught hundreds of classes over the years. He has a background in Public Safety and Security and served as President, Vice President and Secretary of a local gun club for many years. He is a Patriot Benefactor Life Member of the NRA and also a member of the NSSF and CCDL.

Brian is a National Rifle Association Certified Instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer, he is certified by the NRA to instruct numerous classes and disciplines including Basic Pistol, Defensive Pistol, Basic Rifle, Basic Shotgun, Personal Protection Inside the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, Metallic Cartridge Reloading, Shotgun Shell Reloading and Range Safety Officer.

Brian is also a United States Concealed Carry Association Certified Instructor and Training Counselor, he is certified by the USCCA to instruct Basic Handgun, Concealed Carry, Home Defense and to run Instructor Workshops.
