Utah Nonresident Permit
The Utah permit was once one of the most useful nonresident concealed firearm permits for Connecticut residents. Changes in permitless carry laws have significantly reduced the additional benefit it once provided.
Why We Stopped Offering It
We have decided to stop teaching Utah Permit Classes. As a resident of Connecticut, it's probably not worth the added expenses and the time of the class you need to take to obtain a Utah Permit.
At one time the Utah Permit was the #1 nonresident permit to obtain. It added over 17 states, but over the years 14 of those states have gone Constitutional Carry and a permit is no longer required.
The value of a nonresident permit depends largely on what additional states it allows a Connecticut resident to carry in. As more states adopted permitless or Constitutional Carry, much of the additional coverage once provided by the Utah permit disappeared.
Another Option
The Arizona nonresident permit is probably the best way to go if you want to add three states quickly: Delaware, Nevada and New Mexico.
