Permit Class

Class Information

The main objective of the Basic Pistol Class is for the student to learn the basic skills, knowledge and attitude to safely handle pistols and revolvers.

The Basic Pistol Class includes classroom training on gun parts and operation, ammunition safety, cleaning, storage, loading and unloading, shooting fundamentals, range safety and pistol sports and activities. Students are then required to demonstrate safe gun handling while completing a live fire exercise on the shooting range.

In addition, we will thoroughly go over the Connecticut and Florida permit process so that you can successfully apply for and receive your permit(s).

Connecticut laws will be discussed in general and information will be given on how students should follow up with advanced training classes that get into much greater detail about the laws and advanced shooting skills. It is highly recommended that all students follow up their basic training and take these advanced courses once they receive their permit and purchase their own handgun.

All classes are currently held at Wolf's Indoor Range in Bristol, CT (If you have questions or need to cancel a registration please email me directly, use the contact form or call me at 860-515-8824, DO NOT CALL WOLF"S INDOOR RANGE, I only rent their facilities to teach this class and they do not handle any scheduling or answer questions about any of my classes.)

The fee for the NRA Basic Pistol Class is $110 and is payable the morning of the class. Payment is accepted by cash (preferred) or major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) only. Under no circumstances will checks (personal, business, certified, etc.) or money orders be accepted.

All necessary classroom materials, firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection and other needed range equipment will be provided for you as needed.
